NowLebanon - Family of Lebanese citizen confirm abduction by Syrian rebels, report says, August 14 2012

The family of Lebanese citizen Hassan Salim al-Meqdad confirmed that he was detained by the Free Syrian Army, LBC television reported on Tuesday.
According to LBC, Meqdad’s family said that “he has been residing in Syria for around 18 months for work.”
The family threatened to "take escalating measures" in case Meqdad was not released, LBC added.
Al-Arabiya television reported on Monday that the FSA detained in Damascus Lebanese national Hassan Salim al-Meqdad, “a member of Hezbollah.”
However, the Shiite party issued a statement on Tuesday morning denying that Meqdad was one of its members.
In May, 11 Shiite pilgrims were abducted in Syria’s Aleppo while returning from a pilgrimage in Iran. Later in the month, a previously unknown armed group calling itself the "Syrian Revolutionaries—Aleppo Province" said that it was holding the group, while the Free Syrian Army had repeatedly denied its involvement in the abduction.
