Naharnet - Al-Jadeed TV Attacker Released on Bail, August 30 2012

The Beirut accusatory body headed by Judge Nada Dakroub on Wednesday decided to release Wissam Alaeddine, the suspect in the attack on al-Jadeed television, on a LBP 2 million bail.
Dakroub had issued an arrest warrant for Alaeddine that expired today. On July 4, she overruled a decision by Beirut Examining Magistrate Judge Ghassan Owaidat to release Alaeddine and keep him under judicial supervision.
Alaeddine is charged with attempted murder and the possession of weapons.
He was one of several gunmen who attacked al-Jadeed television's headquarters in the Beirut neighborhood of Wata el-Msaytbeh in June.
The group opened fire on the building, hurled Molotov bombs and set fire to tires at its entrance.
Alaeddine was detained at the scene after his clothes caught fire.
The attack came after Salafist cleric Sheikh Ahmed al-Assir launched a scathing attack on Hizbullah and AMAL Movement during an interview with the station.
Later on Wednesday, heavy celebratory gunfire erupted near Alaeddine's residence in the Beirut neighborhood of Zoqaq al-Blat. Convoys also roamed several streets in Beirut in celebration of the move.
