NowLebanon - Relatives of abducted Shiite pilgrims protest outside Presidential Palace, August 1 2012

Relatives of the 11 Lebanese Shiite pilgrims that were abducted in Syria protested in front of the Baabda Presidential Palace on Tuesday morning, the National News Agency reported.
They called on President Michel Suleiman and the cabinet to work toward the pilgrims’ release, and urged Arab countries to help in the matter, the report added.
A delegation of the protests met later on Tuesday with Suleiman, who “promised positive developments before Sunday.”
In May, 11 Shiite pilgrims were abducted in Syria’s Aleppo while returning from a pilgrimage in Iran. Later in the month, a previously unknown armed group calling itself the "Syrian Revolutionaries—Aleppo Province" said that it was holding the group, while the Free Syrian Army had repeatedly denied its involvement in the abduction.
