The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

iloubnan - Police contain situation in Roumieh, ISF - April 26, 2011

Inmates in Roumieh prison started rioting in bloc D at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Inmates resorted to rioting, sabotage, breaking and setting fire to mattresses and their belongings, the statement added.

The Internal Security Forces raided the prison at 4:15 am to put an end to the riots and protect the security of prisoners.

The situation in the prison is calm, one inmate was injured while trying to threaten the ISF members. He was hospitalized immediately.
