The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) hosted nearly 30 lawyers from Lebanon and provided them with briefings on the work of the court.
According to the STL website on Wednesday, “the legal professionals, who travelled to The Hague for a seminar on the development of international justice, met officials from all the organs of the tribunal.”
“They were given a tour of the courtroom and were able to ask questions about the work of the STL,” the website said.
It added that “the three-day event explored international justice, especially the challenges and successes that jurists face in this field.”
“The lawyers also visited the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Criminal Court (ICC), and met representatives from various non-governmental organizations in The Hague including the Coalition for the International Criminal Court and the International Bar Association.”
