The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Roumieh families block airport road, throw stones at police - April 7, 2011

Roumieh inmates’ families blocked the Beirut airport road with burning tires at Ain ad-Dilbe on Thursday evening, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The protesters threw stones at security forces who intervened to open the road, the NNA said, adding that gunshots were heard.
Inmates’ families have protested in various locations over the past few days while simultaneous riots occur within Roumieh prison.
