The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

NNA - Lebanon Rahi from Roumieh To speed up trails, avoid unnecessary delay, April 02, 2015

Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi on Thursday confirmed during Maundy Thursday mass at Roumieh prison that justice should be implemented with utmost equity and mercy.


The Maronite Patriarch also stressed the importance of speeding up trail procedures and to avoid intentional stalling.


Rahi finally pushed for better work opportunities for prisoners so that they could pursue their life with dignity and be able to provide for their families.
