Now Lebanon - Chatah hopes Bellemare’s statement ends tension - September 2, 2010

As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted on Thursday Prime Minister Saad Hariri's adviser Mohammad Chatah as saying he hopes Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) Prosecutor General Daniel Bellemare’s Tuesday statement will put an end to tension.

Bellemare told NOW Lebanon in an exclusive interview that the tribunal will not file in September an indictment in the case of the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Chatah also said that Bellemare’s statement was clear, adding that such an honest speech should be dealt with positively.
