Now lebanon - Jumblatt: STL exists, but we have to be careful - September 27, 2010

Following his meeting with Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the Grand Serail in Beirut on Monday, Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt said that the “Special Tribunal [for Lebanon] (STL) exists, but we have to be [careful],” according to a statement issued by the PM’s press office.
Tension ran high in Lebanon after reports said that the STL would soon issue its indictment in the 2005 assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri.

All parties should avoid tension and adopt dialogue and calm, Jumblatt also said, adding that he discussed the latest domestic developments with Hariri.
Commenting on his Sunday statement that it would have been better if the STL had never existed, Jumblatt said, “That statement is for history, and we now speak for the future.”
Tense arguments do not lead anywhere, he added.
