Now Lebanon - Qassem says STL summoned new Hezbollah members - September 24, 2010

Al-Mustaqbal newspaper reported on Friday that Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem revealed that his party received a new request from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) to question Hezbollah members.

Qassem said that Hezbollah received the request from the tribunal last month, after Eid al-Fitr, which marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

He added that Hezbollah has not yet responded to the court’s request.

Earlier this year, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah confirmed that the STL did in fact summon 12 party members. However, he said that they were summoned as witnesses and not as suspects.
