The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Court issues rulings against members of Bar Elias terrorist cell, September 6, 2010

The Permanent Military Court—presided over by Judge General Nizar Khalil—on Monday passed down sentences ranging from one year of imprisonment to life in jail against members of the Bar Elias terrorist cell, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.The members of the cell—which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda—were accused in 2007 of forging Lebanese and Syrian identity cards and planning to conduct terrorist attacks by firing missiles at the Bekaa city of Zahle.
