The Daily Star- Franjieh praises Rai following Bkirki visit , December , 1 , 2011

BEIRUT: Marada Movement leader Suleiman Franjieh expressed his support for Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai Wednesday and endorsed a system of proportional representation in parliamentary elections.
“We came to stress to him [Rai] that we were and are still with Bkirki and we stand today by his side in these circumstances,” Franjieh told reporters after visiting the patriarch at his residence in Bkirki.
The Zghorta MP said he supported a proportional representation system with medium-size districts. “We don’t mind the adoption of the Orthodox [Gathering’s] proposal.
We should have several choices, the first of which should be that of the Orthodox Gathering,” Franjieh said. “We must agree on an [electoral] law and look for what unites Christians.”
The Orthodox Gathering proposed that each sect elects its own MPs within a proportional representation system with a single, nationwide electoral district.
