The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Italy sends aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, December 16th 2011


BEIRUT: Italy has sent 17 tons of humanitarian aid worth $200,000 to assist some 6,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon, announced the Italian embassy in Beirut.
The items include medical kits, power generators, blankets and water bottles.
The cargo plane carrying the aid is being sent by the Italian Development Cooperation, following an appeal by the opposition Syrian National Council President Burhan Ghalioun.
The goods are scheduled to arrive Friday evening in Beirut, where officials from the Italian Foreign Ministry will hand them over to the UNHCR and the Lebanese government.
