NOW Lebanon- Al-Jumhuriya: Hezbollah, FPM agree on Higher Judicial Council nomination , December 15, 2011

Al-Jumhuriya newspaper reported on Thursday that Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement have agreed on nominating Judge Tannous Mechleb for the position of president of the Higher Judicial Council.
However, the ministers aligned with President Michel Sleiman, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the Progressive Socialist Party will object to this nomination, since they prefer keeping such a “sensitive post” unbiased and refuse any recommendation coming from a party, the report added.
The Higher Judicial Council is reportedly a controversial issue between President Michel Sleiman and Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun
