The Daily Star- Cellular evidence reviewed in curtailed STL hearing, November 03 , 2016

BEIRUT: Lawyers sifted through cellular network evidence during Wednesday’s abbreviated hearing of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Prosecution counselor Fabia Wong led the session confirming data on “red network phones.” Several groups of covert cellular networks – organized by color groups – have been used to identify various elements of the 2005 bombing that killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Throughout Wednesday’s session, Wong addressed court decisions to reinvestigate admissible evidence of the “red” cellular networks. This particular color group has been alleged to be the network of the team on the ground that carried out the attack. “The telephone number of [protected witnesses] PRH 686 and PRH 249 were involved in the sale of handsets used in red network SIM cards,” Wong confirmed. “These call-sequence tables included two phones used by witness PRH 063 and PRH 065 who testified in June 2015 regarding their sale of the Mitsubishi Canter.” The Mitsubishi Canter van referred to by Wong was loaded with explosives to assassinate Hariri and 19 others. Wong continued to organize evidence collected over the past few years of the STL trial. The prosecution counselor classified information based upon their practicality in upcoming hearings.
