The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - NGOs work together to stem health pandemics - September 23, 2010

BEIRUT: NGOs held a workshop on Wednesday to encourage cooperation between the government and civil society in limiting health pandemics. The NGOs Lebanese Gathering to Protect the Environment, Amwaj al-Biaa and the Arab Network for Environment and Development organized the workshop to help participants face uprising epidemics according to international methods. The seminar focused on the bird flu epidemic, stressing the need for official authorities and civil society organizations to cooperate in fighting the disease. Amwaj al-Biaa Secretary Malek Ghandour said the workshop was part of international efforts to limit medical and natural disasters with the help of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. – The Daily Star
