Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will deliver a live speech on Al-Manar television on Saturday July 2 at 8:30 p.m. (local time) to announce his party’s position on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon indictment, Hezbollah’s press office said in a statement released on Friday.
The UN-backed international court on Thursday issued its indictment and arrest warrants for the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, with members of Hezbollah reportedly among those named.
Al-Manar television dismissed the court as "politicized" and said it bore the mark of being at the service of intelligence agencies.
The Iranian- and Syrian-backed Shia group has warned it would "cut off the hand" of anyone who attempts to arrest party members linked to the February 14, 2005 seaside bombing that killed Hariri and 22 others.
