The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Youth association urges road safety measures, October 19, 2011

BEIRUT: The Youth Association for Social Awareness raised Tuesday eight demands to the government in order to reduce the rate of road accidents which according to a statement it issued have reached a record high.YASA called on the government to establish a department specialized in the traffic sector within the Directorate General of Internal Security Forces based on recommendations repeated for over a decade by the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council in order to train traffic police and enforce traffic laws firmly on all citizens.
YASA also called on the Justice Ministry to enforce traffic laws in an efficient manner and proposed a radical development of driving tests as the current year has witnessed flagrant violations in giving driving permits.
YASA also called on the Ministry of Public Works to maintain the country’s international roads according to international standards and develop means to prevent further road accidents.
