Public Health Minister, Ali Hasan Khalil on Sunday launched an anti-drug awareness campaign at Nabih Berri's Cultural Center in Msayleh.

Addressing leading Amal figures in south Lebanon, and a number of top brass anti-narcotics police officers, the Minister urged caution in cracking down on the social threat posed by narcotics through immunizing the Lebanese public against its harms.

He called for an anti-narcotics strategy in which all efforts are channeled in the drive against drug trafficking and abuse. The Minister noted need for an emergency plan drafted by the government. He stressed need for implementing the anti-narcotics code.

He disclosed that Daher Bachek and Beirut University Hospital would witness the establishment of two rehabilitation centers for drug addicts and that there were plans to build further centers all over the country.
