The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Iloubnan_Sanctions by Security Council on Lebanon are military operation, says Aoun, October 12, 2011


The Bloc of Reform and Change, under the chairmanship of Deputy General Michel Aoun, held on Tuesday its periodical meeting in Rabieh. Evoking the issue of STL, probing the assassination of Martyr Rafic Hariri and related crimes, Aoun said any sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council on Lebanon due to the cabinet's non-financing the STL is deemed as a military operation against Lebanon, an assassination and invasion. After all, Aoun explained, there isn't any legal formula that justifies Lebanon's commitment to funding. Aoun indicated that there isn't even any agreement between Lebanon and the Security Council related to the STL funding issue. Therefore, any penalties against Lebanon in this concern are an aggression, Aoun wrapped up.
