The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star- UNHCR: 159 Syrian refugees registered in week , December , 3 , 2011

BEIRUT: The U.N. High Commission for Refugees said Friday that 159 Syrian refugees have registered with the agency in northern Lebanon since last week.
There are now 3,798 refugees registered with the agency, and with Lebanon’s High Relief Committee. Most of the refugees are residing with host families in “difficult circumstances” according to the report.
The remainder, who number over 200, are housed in rehabilitated abandoned schools. Another three shelters are currently being refurbished “should there be a need in the future.”
