The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Sri Lankan domestic worker kills employer, february, 23, 2012


BEIRUT: A Sri Lankan housemaid stabbed to death her employer at the latter's house near Beirut airport Thursday, security sources said.
They said the woman, identified by her first name Habiba, smashed a vase over her employer’s head before stabbing her several times.
Nehmat Munzir, 67, died of severe bleeding at her house in Burj Barajneh, added the sources, who spoke to The Daily Star on condition of anonymity.
Police arrested Habiba, who confessed to committing the crime.
