The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Abu Faour wants LL45 bln to help disabled, charities, April 12, 2012


BEIRUT: Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour said that his ministry needs LL45 billion to distribute among disabled people and vulnerable communities that receive care from charity organizations, the National News Agency said Wednesday.
Faour was speaking during a meeting with a delegation from the National Council for Social Service on the issues of charity and social organizations that care for orphans.
Faour said that there is debate between himself and the Finance Ministry over whether to allocate LL35 billion or LL45 billion to his ministry.
“All I’m asking for is LL45 billion and I know the resources of the state.”
