The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Williams calls on Lebanon to follow UN resolutions - July 13, 2011

UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Michael Williams on Wednesday met with Prime Minister Najib Mikati and voiced the importance of Lebanon fulfilling its obligations to all UN Security Council resolutions.
He also told Mikati that the national dialogue needs to “reconvene as soon as possible,” according to a statement issued by Williams’ office.
“For his part, the prime minister reassured me in the strongest terms possible of the firm commitment of his government to [UN] Security Council Resolution 1701 and I welcomed that.”
Williams also told Mikati that he will brief the UN Security Council on the implementation of Resolution 1701.
