Now Lebanon - SSNP denies involvement in Pierre Gemayel assassination - July 13, 2011

The Syrian Social Nationalist Party issued a statement on Wednesday denying reports that the party was involved in the 2006 assassination of former Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel and the failed attempt to assassinate journalist May Chidiac.
Saudi Al-Bilad newspaper reported on Tuesday that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) will issue another round of indictments accusing the SSNP of being behind the two crimes.
The statement added that these reports are part of a campaign to ruin the public image of the party and its members.
The March 8 party also reiterated its stance condemning all assassinations and calling for justice and the uncovering of criminals.
Gemayel was assassinated on November 21, 2006 in Beirut’s northern suburb of Jdeideh, along with one of his guards, while Chidiac survived a car bomb on September 25, 2005, but was seriously wounded.
