The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - ISF apprehend man with 3kg of drugs at airport, October 12, 2011

BEIRUT: Internal Security Forces customs office at the Rafik Hariri International Airport cracked down on an attempt to transfer illegal drugs to Qatar, a security source told The Daily Star Tuesday.According to the source, several agents of the customs office suspected one of the travelers at the Beirut airport and after a brief search, they found three kilograms of drug pills in his luggage.The source also said that the man, identified by his initials A.B., was transferred to the drug control office for further questioning. “Following a brief examination of A.B.’s case, the ISF was ordered to transfer him out of the airport for further investigation.”“The 20-year-old A.B. had placed the three kilograms of pills in nylon bags of his luggage,” the source added.
