The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Two inmates at Amyoun prison in Koura began a riot on Saturday after security forces detained the mother of one of them for trying to smuggle drugs into the jail, the National News Agency reported.Inmates Yehya al-Ayoubi and Haitham Allaw locked their cell from the inside and threatened to harm prisoners protesting on detaining the mother of Allaw.The mother of inmate Allaw tried to smuggle 100 pills of sedative drugs to her son before the prison guards seized them, and detained her.Fouhoud Special Forces heavily deployed around the prison to encircle the riots.Negotiations are ongoing to end the riots, the NNA said.However, OTV television station reported that the riots ended after security forces released the mother of the inmate.
