The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Biker dies in crash, jailed man, 71, dies of heart attack, December 1st 2011


BEIRUT: A 23-year-old man was killed Wednesday on the airport road, south of Beirut when his motorcycle struck a car, whose driver then fled the scene.
The body of the man was taken to Rafik Hariri University Hospital and police are looking for the driver of the car.
Meanwhile, an autopsy Wednesday of a prisoner found dead in his cell at Baabda’s Justice Palace revealed he died from a heart attack.
Rafik Ali Qaddour, 71, was found dead in his prison cell Tuesday morning. He had been arrested on suspicion of using drugs and he was waiting for his trial date to be set.
