The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Naharnet: Man Kills Wife, Attempts to Commit Suicide in Koura

A Lebanese man killed his wife and then tried to commit suicide in the al-Koura district of northern Lebanon on Friday night, local media reported.
The reports said Saturday that Ahmed Khodr Salibi shot his wife, Giselle Hanna, with a Kalashnikov rifle in her head and chest in the town of Kfarqahel.
He later turned the gun to his head but failed to kill himself. He was taken to al-Koura hospital where he was being treated for his serious condition.
The couple has three children, two girls and a boy.
