The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star Lebanon - Environment Ministry announces new projects, April 03, 2012


BEIRUT: The Environment Ministry is to establish a National Council for the Environment to carry out research on the environmental impact of construction projects and provide an environmental certification system for businesses.
The projects were announced Monday by Environment Minister Nazem al-Khoury under a series of decrees to coincide with the United Nations Rio+20 conference on sustainable development in Brazil in June.
The ministry said it would also renew its website.
The council will bring together representatives of public and private sectors.
