Warrants issued against suspects in Koura killing

By The Daily Star

BEIRUT: Arrest warrants were issued on Friday against five people suspected of being involved last week’s double murder in Dahr al-Ain, Koura. Beirut First Investigative Magistrate Ghassan Oueidat questioned five people suspected of involvement in the murder – Hanna Bersawi, his children Elias and Joseph Bersawi, Amin Issa and Charbel Musa – and then issued arrest warrants against them. Two brothers, Tony and Naef Saleh, were allegedly shot by Hanna al-Bersawi in the northern village. The murder, which occurred two days before municipal polls in the region, created political tension because the brothers were Marada Movement supporters while Bersawi was a Lebanese Forces follower. – The Daily Star
