The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

NOW Lebanon- Demonstrators block Baalbek road in call for prisoner amnesty , November 14, 2011

Young men on Monday blocked the northern road leading to the city of Baalbek with burning tires to demand general amnesty for prisoners, the National News Agency reported.
The report added that Lebanese army forces and Civil Defense Forces arrived to the scene to reopen the road.
A number of riots broke out earlier in the year in Roumieh Prison, while families of inmates have staged protests calling for improved prisoner rights and a general amnesty for their detained relatives.
