iloubnan- Aoun: Special tribunal for Lebanon is a "bluff", November 27, 2011

Change and Reform Bloc head MP Michel Aoun reassured his supporters Saturday that the fire of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) surrounding Lebanon will not ravish the country, and that the region is immune to NATO interference.

He considered that the current situation required solidarity and a closing of ranks in order to successfully change the status-quo.

Aoun stressed that the STL investigating 2005 assassination of PM Rafik Hariri, was a "bluff" especially that the creation of this tribunal was approved by the United Nations.
He claimed he got hold of a letter sent by Condoleezza Rice, former US Secretary of State, to France asking them to approve the establishment of the STL outside the framework of the Lebanese parliament "to avoid any obstacles." Under these conditions, according to Aoun, the United Nations must assume the costs of this court.
