iloubnan- Safadi: discrepancies within cabinet may lead to resignation, November 27, 2011

Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi said Sunday to Voice of Lebanon radio station that the government is a coalition of members of March 8 and independent ministers with diverging opinions, particularly concerning Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), which may cause cabinet's resignation.

"I hope [the cabinet] persists but on the condition of abiding by commitments of previous administrations," said the Minister who insisted that he would follow cabinet decisions concerning financing the tribunal.

"The international community does not threaten the Lebanese government," he asserted, adding that the cabinet was able to tend to its duties towards the STL as well as people's daily life issues.
