July 27, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Khreiss doubts STL indictment will be made public in September

Development and Liberation bloc MP Ali Khreiss told OTV on Tuesday that he does not expect the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) to issue its indictment in September or October.

This comes after media outlets reported that the tribunal would indict Hezbollah members before the end of the year.

It is possible the STL will postpone the release of its indictment, Khreiss added.

The MP also said that Lebanon is heading toward stability, praising the upcoming visit of Arab leaders to Beirut. This comes as media outlets have reported that Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz might meet with Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani in Beirut.

Khreiss voiced hope that the tribunal would not become politicized.

Hezbollah approves of the tribunal as long as it is independent, he said, but added that the STL is conspiring against the Resistance.
