July 29, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Moussawi slams Future spokesperson’s STL comments

Hezbollah Media Relations Officer Ibrahim Moussawi said that not discussing the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) before it issues its indictment causes conflict, according to a statement issued Thursday by Hezbollah.

The statement cited Future Movement Media Relations officer Rached Fayed as saying that discussions on the tribunal’s indictment destabilize Lebanon.

Moussawi slammed Fayed, adding that Future Movement figures have discussed the STL on several occasions. Fayed’s statement is a desperate attempt to get to the Resistance, he also said.

This comes after Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah earlier in July accused the STL of being an Israeli project designed to target the Resistance by stirring up sectarian strife in Lebanon. Nasrallah’s speech has since caused tension and drawn harsh criticisms, mainly from March 14 alliance politicians.
