July 25, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Wahhab calls Hariri delusional

In an interview with Al-Manar television on Sunday night, Tawhid Movement leader Waim Wahhab said that Prime Minister Saad Hariri is delusional if he thinks he can find out who assassinated his father, former PM Rafik Hariri.

“The one who killed [Saad Hariri’s] father is stronger than [Saad] and stronger than us and Syria,” Wahhab said, without elaborating further.

He also questioned why the issue of false witnesses in the investigation into the Rafik Hariri assassination is not brought up.

Earlier in July, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) held a public hearing over former General Security head Brigadier General Jamil as-Sayyed’s request for documents related to his imprisonment. Sayyed, who was jailed for four years for his alleged involvement in the Rafik Hariri murder, claims he is the victim of false testimony.

“[The government of former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora] was established on invalid grounds five years ago. The tribunal is fake and witnesses are false. What is based on invalid grounds is invalid,” Wahhab said.
