July 29, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Qataris organizing Hariri-Nasrallah meeting, says report

Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas reported on Thursday that Qatari diplomats are trying to organize a meeting between Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in the presence of Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani who will visit Lebanon on Friday.

The daily said efforts are underway to hold the meeting at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are also expected in Beirut on Friday.

The visits are widely seen as an attempt to ease tensions after Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said last week the STL will name Hezbollah members in its pending indictment, which sparked fears a new sectarian conflict will break out.
