July 25, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Turkey suggests postponing STL indictment until end of year

Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anbaa reported on Sunday that Turkish officials suggested to the international community that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL)’s pending indictment should be postponed until the end of this year.

The daily said that several states agreed to Turkey’s proposal, but did not name any of them.

The STL is probing the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Reports said that the tribunal would likely issue its indictment in September or before the end of 2010.
