Now Lebanon - Israel to release detainees to Lebanon, June 1, 2010

NOW’s correspondent reported on Tuesday that Israel is to release Al-Jazeera journalists Abbas Naser and Andre Abi Khalil as well as activist hussein Shakr, who were detained following Israel’s raid on the Gaza-bound aid convoy on Monday. The men will reportedly be released to UNIFIL forces at the Naqoura border in South Lebanon.

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) has taken emergency measures to ensure the release of the detainees, added the correspondent.

Earlier on Tuesday, the wife of Al-Jazeera journalist Abbas Naser told NOWLebanon that the International Red Cross Organization assured her that her husband will be released at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
