Now lebanon - Qassem calls on Hariri to solve STL crisis - October 31, 2010

Prime Minister Saad Hariri must find a “fundamental solution” to the crisis over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) to prevent strife, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said in an interview published on Sunday.
Hezbollah “stands against the STL because of its absolute confidence that [the party] is not responsible for the [2005] assassination of [former] Prime Minister Rafik Hariri,” Qassem told Qatari newspaper Al-Watan.
The STL has gone beyond the search for the truth and is now about a politicized settling of accounts, he added.
Tension is high in Lebanon after unconfirmed reports that the STL will soon issue its indictment for Rafik Hariri murder. There are fears that should the court indict Hezbollah members, it could lead to clashes similar to those of the 2008 May Events.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday called on all Lebanese to boycott the STL and end all cooperation with its investigators.
