Now lebanon - Fayyad: Most Lebanese do not trust STL - October 31, 2010

Hezbollah MP Ali Fayyad said Sunday most Lebanese do not trust the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) probing the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
An international will is imposing the tribunal on the Lebanese, he said, adding the international pressure contradicts Lebanon’s democracy.
“That is why the UN probe must be reconsidered.”
Tension is high in Lebanon after unconfirmed reports that the STL will soon issue its indictment for the killing of Rafik Hariri. There are fears that should the court indict Hezbollah members, it could lead to clashes similar to those of the 2008 May Events – when gunmen led by Hezbollah took over half of Beirut.
On Thursday , Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah called on all Lebanese to boycott the tribunal and to end all cooperation with its investigators.
