The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - CCER discusses electoral law reform with Hariri - October 29, 2010

BEIRUT: The Civil Campaign for Electoral Reform (CCER) held separate meetings with Prime Minister Saad Hariri and the director general of the Foreign Ministry, Haitham Jomaa, Thursday in a bid to discuss electoral law reforms that the CCER put forward Wednesday. CCER members met with Hariri and discussed reforms to be introduced to the 2013 electoral law. The CCER had announced the reforms Wednesday in a news conference which mainly centered on the adoption of proportional representation and the establishment of an independent electoral commission. The campaign, which received Hariri’s support, tackled with Jomaa the difficulties the Foreign Ministry faced in granting non-resident Lebanese their right to vote. While the CCER urged the government to adopt appropriate procedures to implement the electoral reforms, it expressed its readiness to provide the Foreign Ministry with the necessary technical support. –The Daily Star
