The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - STL investigators’ stolen briefcase contained computer, source says - October 28, 2010









The briefcase snatched from Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) investigators in Dahiyeh on Wednesday contained a computer and documents used for interviewing, Al-Hayat newspaper quoted an anonymous source as saying in its Thursday edition.A group of women charged at STL investigators at a Beirut gynecology clinic in Dahiyeh on Wednesday morning and grabbed a briefcase from them, AFP reported.
The source denied any knowledge of the names on a list that investigators sought to discuss with the clinic’s owner, adding that it is unlikely that the briefcase contained any secret documents.Al-Hayat also quoted an anonymous security source as saying that the two STL investigators were accompanied by a Lebanese interpreter, two detectives and a Lebanese army patrol. One detective stayed in the car during the interview and the army patrol waited several dozen meters’ distance from the building, the source added.
