A priest identified as
Walid Gharios was abducted on Monday in Baalbek after he had baptized a Muslim,
the National News Agency reported.
“Unidentified assailants in
two cars intercepted Gharios in his car in Baalbek and kidnapped him,” the
report said.
The report also said that
tpreliminary information revealed that the abductors kidnapped the priest
because he had “baptized a Muslim girl after she left her parents’ house.”
The NNA added that security
forces were working to track down the priest and his kidnappers.
