The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Blast shakes compound inhabited by Syrian workers in south Lebanon, May 23 2012


SIDON, Lebanon: A predawn explosion Wednesday at a compound inhabited by Syrian workers in south Lebanon caused some property damage.
Security sources told The Daily Star Wednesday unknown assailants tossed a dynamite stick at the compound in Aqibiyeh near Zahrani, causing material damage but no casualties.
Lebanese troops swiftly arrived at the scene following the 2 a.m. blast and launched an investigation into the incident.
The tent-like compound, covered with posters of Syrian President Bashar Assad, has been home for about 200 Syrian agricultural workers for the past two decades.
