The Daily Star - SKeyes: 21 violations of press freedom last month, May 19 2012

BEIRUT: Lebanon witnessed 21 violations of press and cultural freedoms last month, according to Samir Kassir Eyes (SKeyes), a center that monitors media and cultural freedom.
The organization’s report listed the killing of New TV camera man Ali Shaaban as the most “atrocious” violation last month.
Other violations include the arrest of bloggers and human rights activists for graffiti in the Beshara Khoury neighborhood, and the use of force by security forces against those protesting their arrest.
The report lists other instances of beatings by police and security guards. It also notes four incidents of hacking of government and media websites over the last month, as well as the trial of actors charged with public indecency during a comedy show.
