The Daily Star - ICRC facilitates repatriation of Lebanese couple from Israel, May 24 2012

BEIRUT: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) facilitated Thursday the repatriation of an elderly Lebanese couple from Israel to Lebanon, the organization said in a statement.
It also arranged the repatriation of a Lebanese civilian who died in Israel and wished to be buried at home.
The handover operation took place in Rosh Hanikra/Ras Naqoura at the Israeli-Lebanese border in the presence of ICRC delegates.
"Our role is strictly humanitarian and part of our ongoing work to restore and maintain contact between people detained or separated in connection with armed conflict and their families," Jurg Montani, head of the ICRC delegation in Lebanon, was quoted by the organization as saying.
"The ICRC is acting in its capacity as a neutral intermediary at the request of the Israeli and Lebanese authorities and with the full consent of all parties concerned,” he added.
In 2012, the ICRC repatriated to Lebanon five Lebanese civilians and the remains of three other. It also facilitated the transfer of an Arab-Israeli national from Lebanon to Israel.
