The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Foreign Ministry rejects media accounts on emigrant voting report - October 10, 2010








The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement Sunday describing as incorrect the media stories on the ministry’s report on emigrant participation in the 2013 parliamentary elections, which was submitted to the cabinet’s secretariat. An-Nahar newspaper reported earlier in the day that the report says it is impossible for Lebanese expatriates to vote from their countries of residence in the upcoming parliamentary elections.The ministry added that the document is an initial report summarizing the ministry’s contacts with emigrants living abroad regarding the issue.
