The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - An-Nahar: Expatriates cannot participate in 2013 elections - October 10, 2010









An-Nahar newspaper reported on Sunday that according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Shami it is impossible for expatriates to participate in the 2013 parliamentary elections.Shami submitted a report on the matter to the ministers, the daily also reported, adding that this issue might cause a controversy.
Al-Mustaqbal newspaper also reported on Sunday that according to Shami’s report, expatriates’ participation is impossible due to logistics and communication issues.Shami’s report further said that expatriates are not enthusiastic about registering themselves with their expat communities abroad, the daily added.
